At the Johnson farm, siblings Carolyn and Michael are working with a lawyer to settle the estate of their mother Francesca. They are unpleasantly surprised by their mother's wish to be cremated and scattered from the nearby Roseman Bridge. But then they discover among her belongings the will of Robert Kincaid, who wanted exactly the same thing. When they learn from her letter that she once had a brief love affair with Kincaid, they begin to examine her personal journals more closely and suddenly find themselves reading them...
