A heartwarming family comedy, Mr Popper and His Penguins tells the story of Mr Popper (Jim Carrey), a successful New York businessman. But as much as he succeeds in business, he fails in his personal life, where he struggles to mend relations with his family and runs away from all the crucial decisions he should be making. But one day something happens that turns his life completely upside down. Because right in his living room, the post office delivers an unexpected and very strange package. Six large boxes from which emerge six live penguins, which Mr Popper later learns he has inherited. You'd think penguins were cute and harmless creatures, but what about them in New York? Noisy, Bitey, Captain, Pitoma, Honey and Stinky don't see any big problem. They like New York, they adapt Mr. Popper's apartment in their own way, so it looks more like a winter kingdom, and they make their new owner their surrogate dad. But Mr Popper is not too happy about it and would rather have his old life back - without the penguins. What's more, when the six of them go looking for him one day after he leaves for work, they have a lot of other problems to deal with. Plus, during this trip, the penguins are spotted by someone who would like to see them as an attraction at the local zoo. This might actually be a good thing for Mr. Popper if they hadn't grown on him so much in the meantime.
