In the third film in the series about Vietnam veteran John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone), the title character travels to occupied Afghanistan. In the war-torn country, Soviet aggressors hold captive Rambo's former commander Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna), a mission commander supporting the mujahideen rebels, several other Americans, as well as helpless natives.
After Rambo witnesses a helicopter attack on a defenseless village, he decides to storm a heavily guarded fortress controlled by a sadistic commander...
