At the height of a devastating intergalactic war between humans and the bipedal reptilian humanoids known as the Dragons, Earth's single-seat fighter pilot Willis Davidge (Dennis Quaid) and Saurian pilot Jeriba Shigan (Louis Gossett Jr.) engage in a fierce battle.
