Jojo Rabbit - Blu-ray

Being a little blond boy in the Nazi Third Reich meant a pretty straightforward career. At least at the beginning. One of the first steps is membership in the Hitler Youth, which involves a bit of military drill, burning objectionable books, blowing things up, hating Jews and playing soldiers and war alike. And this in a group with a lot of Hitler's very devoted friends. The meaning and goal is simple: to become a proper and full-fledged Nazi. And that's what 10-year-old Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) wants to be, helped by his imaginary friend, the kind of dim-witted Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi). Adolf advises Jojo in various life situations and encourages him to be a proper Nazi. The turning point in Jojo's life comes when he discovers that his mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in the attic. From that moment on, little Jojo has to face his own blinded Nazism, which his fictional Hitler can hardly deal with. Though he tries hard enough...
