In 2015, the first permanent colony was established on the Moon. In 2032, mining of mineral resources began on Mars. In 2040, the modern spacecraft Event Horizon embarked towards the outer limits of the solar system. Beyond the planet Neptune, it vanished without a trace. It was the worst space disaster in history. However, seven years later, it sent out a signal again, from which several disturbing words were decoded. A rescue mission is therefore launched with a research vessel led by Captain Miller. Dr. Weir, the designer of Event Horizon, is also brought on board. But no one can prepare the crew for what awaits them when they arrive at the long-lost ship. The film Event Horizon was directed by British director Paul W. S. Anderson, based on a screenplay by Philip Eisner, who later became famous primarily for the Resident Evil film series. The lead roles in the film, which won numerous genre awards, were played by acclaimed actors Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill.
