Casino Royale explores the early days of James Bond’s (Daniel Craig) career as a spy. On his first mission as a newly promoted 00 agent, Bond is tasked with uncovering Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), a banker to global terrorism. To stop him and dismantle the network, Bond must beat Le Chiffre in a high-stakes poker tournament held at Casino Royale.
Bond is less than thrilled when he learns that he'll be accompanied by the charming treasury official Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), who is responsible for supplying the funds for the tournament and overseeing the government's money. However, after surviving a series of deadly attacks from Le Chiffre and his associates, Bond and Vesper begin to develop a mutual attraction.
