Casino Royale is about the early days of Bond's (Daniel Craig) career as a spy. On his first mission with the "007" assignment, he is about to take on Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), who has become a banker of global terrorism.
In order to stop him and dismantle the terrorist network, Bond must defeat Le Chiffre in a poker tournament with astronomical stakes, which Le Chiffre is hosting at the Casino Royale. He receives the news that the charming Treasury Department accountant Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) is going on the mission with him to secure funding for the poker games and then oversee the government's money with extreme reluctance.
However, after they survive a series of deadly attacks together at the hands of Le Chiffre and his henchmen, a mutual attraction develops between them. This eventually leads them into even more dangerous situations that will change Bond's life forever...
