Jacob Jankowski (Robert Pattinson) was taking his final exams in veterinary school when he learned that both his parents had died in a car accident. The economic crisis was just reaching its peak and for Jacob, as for many others, the circus was salvation, although it was a world with narrowly defined irrational rules, with its own concept of life and death. Marlena was led to the circus by her love for the wrong man, the charismatic but perverted and violent circus director (Christoph Waltz). From the beginning, she and Jacob bonded not only over her love of animals, but also over her relationship with Rosie the elephant, who joined the circus as a giant grey hope, a new act that was supposed to save the circus from decline. But how to rehearse the act with Rosie when she was unable to obey even simple commands? The bond that gradually formed between this disparate trio was based on trust and love, and eventually became the only hope of survival for all three.A narrative romance set in a 1930s circus setting about forbidden love that is born in a magical place full of adventure, wonder and danger, based on the worldwide bestselling book by Sara Gruen. It stars Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon and Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson in the lead roles...
