Famous singer Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) is preparing for her wedding to her colleague Bastian (Maluma). The ceremony is to be held in grand style, in front of thousands of spectators in a concert hall and millions more online and on television. Shortly before the ramp takes her to the stage "at the altar," however, Kat discovers that her beloved Bastian has cheated on her. Humiliated, the singer takes a completely unexpected and shocking step. She decides to marry the guy in the crowd below the stage holding a sign that says "Marry Me." The lucky man is divorced math teacher Charlie (Owen Wilson), who definitely does not want to marry the singer. He came to the concert to accompany his daughter and colleague, who adores Kat Valdez, and only held the sign with the aforementioned text for a moment. Before he knows it, the organizers are dragging him onto the stage, where, disoriented and completely shocked, he says "yes." Of course, the promise could be revoked once the emotions subside, but the two face up to it and decide to give it a try after all. What hope can a marriage that came about under such incredible circumstances, and between two completely different "universes" at that, possibly have?
