In Georgian England, Mrs. Bennet (Brenda Blethyn) is raising her five daughters - Jane (Rosamund Pike), Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), Mary (Talulah Riley), Kitty (Carey Mulligan) and Lydia (Jena Malone) - with the goal of marrying them off to a wealthy husband who can support the family.
