Doctor Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) has everything one could want - an interesting job, a beautiful family and a wonderful home. He only encounters violence in the emergency room where he works as a surgeon. One day, however, everything changes. After a brutal assault in his own home, his wife (Elisabeth Shue) dies and his daughter (Camila Morrone) is left lying in a coma in hospital. His whole world comes crashing down and the police just shrug helplessly as they deal with dozens of similar cases a day. Driven by a desire for revenge, Paul takes the law into his own hands and hits the streets armed to save innocent lives and take them from criminals.
