In the near-future action film Steel Fist, Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a former boxer whose beloved sport has been taken over by six-foot-tall steel robots, and humans like Charlie no longer fit in. With no one to fight and no prospects for a better future, he is forced to make a living as a promoter of robot fights. He manages to scrape by by putting together crappy and retired robots and travelling from one tournament to another, anywhere he is able to make some money. Just when it seems the situation couldn't get any more desperate and complicated, his son Max (Dakota Goyo), with whom he hasn't been in contact for some time, suddenly bursts into his life against his will. The two join forces to build and train a new robot and turn him into a boxing champion. As he builds a name for himself in the brutal and unforgiving world of robot fighting, Charlie discovers that against all odds, he has one last chance to make a boxing comeback.
