Raging Bull, from acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, is a biographical film about middleweight boxing champion Jake LaMotta, known during his prime as “The Bronx Bull.” The first thing LaMotta learned in life was how to steal and fight – to be tougher than everyone else. A solitary man who trusted no one, he used his aggression in the ring as a defense against his deeply rooted fears and emotional anxieties. His determination and rage – qualities that helped him become world champion – outside the ring became uncontrollable. His passion for victory ultimately destroyed his personal life: he squandered millions, ruined relationships, and betrayed trust. His wife Vicki, exhausted by years of physical and emotional abuse, left him. Even his brother Joey, once his staunch admirer, turned away. And when LaMotta lost his title, he began an unstoppable descent…
