Recount - DVD

Kevin Spacey and Bob Balaban star in this acclaimed docudrama that takes a closer look at the events surrounding the most controversial presidential election in U.S. history. The highest office in the country is within reach, and the fate of the free world may hang in the balance. When the original election results from Florida prove inconclusive, a decision is made to recount the votes. However, the recount quickly becomes highly controversial, with many voters considering it illegitimate and rejecting the process. Ultimately, the Supreme Court must decide. The effort is led by charismatic Texas Republican James Baker (Tom Wilkinson), who tries to gain public support for the recount. But the Democrats refuse to back down, and former Al Gore campaign chief Ron Klain (Kevin Spacey) fights hard. The opposing camps clash in a battle for the presidency while reluctantly searching for a path toward an acceptable compromise.
