Silence - Blu-ray

By the mid-17th century, Japan is completely closed to contact with Western powers. Christianity is outlawed there and Christians must hide their faith. Two Portuguese Jesuits, Father Rodrigues (Andrew Garfield) and Father Garupe (Adam Driver), travel to the land of the rising sun with a very dangerous goal: to find their teacher, Father Ferreira (Liam Neeson), who has supposedly renounced his faith.

Japan's feudal lords and ruling samurai are determined to eradicate Christianity from their country. To spread the word of God is one of the gravest of crimes. Christians are persecuted and brutally tortured. They either renounce their faith or are subjected to long agony and painful death. The young monks face the most difficult test of faith and perseverance, for which they may not be prepared...
