When Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) gets involved in the drug trade for her boyfriend, she finds herself held hostage by the heartless Mr. Jang (Choi Min Sik). The criminals sew a package filled with a powerful synthetic drug into her stomach to smuggle across the border.

But the package breaks and she discovers unexpected powers. Shocked, Lucy seeks the help of Professor Samuel Norman (Morgan Freeman), who is renowned for his decades of brain research and is the only one who can imagine how far this could go.
