A love story set in 16th-century England. Following the death of Henry VIII, Princess Jane Grey, a Protestant and a naive young woman, ascends to the throne. Betrothed to the Duke of Dudley, they initially dislike one another, but their feelings for each other grow over time. The royal family becomes entangled in political intrigues, and Jane reigns for a mere eight days before the Catholic Mary, known as ‘Bloody Mary’, arrives to seize power. The film depicts a moving struggle between love and politics in difficult times.
