The famous comic book character Iron Man is one of the most flamboyant superheroes under the wing of the giant Marvel. Yet (or maybe that's why) he's only now been able to join his siblings Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men in proudly claiming to have made a movie about them. But don't expect another savior of humanity who was helped to his extraordinary powers by a spider bite or radiation.
The man with the iron mask, Tony Stark by his civilian name, has worked his way "honestly" to his exceptionalism. The quotation marks are appropriate, Tony makes his living as a VIP manufacturer and supplier of high-tech weapons to the US military, and his life philosophy is summed up in the phrase: The best weapon is the one you only need to fire once. On his way back from a hilarious presentation of the latest weapon of mass destruction to the military top brass, he is kidnapped on hot Afghan soil by a terrorist group.
