Funny and nonchalant Samuel (Omar Sy) enjoys a carefree life on the French Riviera. One day, however, he is visited by weekend flirt Kristin (Clémence Poésy), who informs him that the baby she is holding in her arms is his. She hands him the baby girl and runs away. Samuel sets off for London with little Gloria, where he searches in vain for Kristin. In the end, he has no choice but to find a job and settle down in the big city.
Samuel charmingly sets about raising little Gloria. Over the next eight years, he proves to be not only a loving but also a very unconventional father. He deals with the rigours of everyday life as a lonely Frenchman in London with humour. However, the family idyll soon changes when Kristin suddenly appears at their door...
