Hello, Dolly! - DVD

Dolly Levi (played by Barbra Streisand) is a widow who makes her living as a matchmaker. She is highly capable, charming, and eloquent. Using her intelligence, she tries to bring together people from all walks of life and meets millionaire Horace Vandergelder (Walther Matthau), who is planning to get married. She arranges a date for him with a beautiful milliner, but at the same time sends his two young clerks and his young niece—who wishes to marry a young painter against her uncle’s will—to New York. They all head to the grand dance competition at the Harmonia, where the musical—woven with various melodies (including a trumpet performance by Louis Armstrong), singing, and dancing choreographed by the famous Gene Kelly—builds up to a surprising conclusion.
