The Grinch (Jim Carrey) came into the world just like all the Whos of Whoville. One cold night, he landed in his little umbrella-like cradle on the doorstep of two kind-hearted sisters, Rose and Clara. They took him in with love, even though from the very beginning they sensed he was different from the other children of Whoville. By the age of eight, the Grinch had grown greenish hair and a beard, and his peers mocked him at every turn. During the Christmas season, he left home, turned his back on everyone, rejected Christmas—which is almost sacred to the Whos—and settled in a deep cave high above the town. Ever since, he has been a nightmare to all the Whos, filling them with fear and, worse still, guilt. The streets of Whoville once again come alive with the bustle of the holiday season, heightened by preparations for the grand Whobilation celebration. That’s when the brave Cindy Lou decides to personally invite the Grinch and his dog Max to serve as the holiday cheermeister and reconcile with the Whos. Things, however, turn out very differently than the little girl imagined, as the Grinch is quite a misfit—and his heart is two sizes too small. Only when he realizes that Christmas cannot be stolen, because it cannot be bought, does his heart grow to its proper size...
