CIA agent Grant helps Czechoslovak scientist Jan Beneš escape to the United States. However, there, enemy agents almost kill Beneš, leaving the scientist in a coma with a brain injury. The U.S. Army has a critical interest in keeping Beneš alive, as he knows how to solve the problems associated with a new invention, usable both in the military and in medicine. The invention allows shrinking objects and people to the size of a microbe and transporting them, for example, into the human body. That is exactly what a team of specialists is about to do. Grant must serve as security oversight for four experts, who are delivered via a special submersible by syringe into Beneš’s artery. Their goal is to penetrate the scientist’s brain and use a laser to remove a dangerous blood clot. But soon, unexpected problems arise. The miniature scientists face a race against time, Beneš’s immune system, and an unknown saboteur…
