Everest, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, recounts one of the most tragic expeditions in which the majestic massif sent a chilling warning to its challengers. It is the mid-1990s and the Himalayas are becoming a popular tourist destination. No longer are the eight-thousanders climbed only by experienced mountaineers, but entire processions of adventurers from all over the world are drawn there.
Yet mountain guides Rob Hall (Jason Clarke) and Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) don't underestimate anything and only take people with a track record on their expedition to the highest point on Earth. All are well prepared and equipped, nothing should stand in the way of their clients' dreams coming true.
