Imagine a future where the glaciers start to melt and natural resources run out. A society so advanced that it has robots for everything, dividing the world into mechs (machines) and orgs (human beings). Plus, you need permission to have offspring. That's how you could describe the time in which Henry and Monica live. A husband and wife whose only child lies in a coma and they can only hope to wake him up.
But then something changes. The company they work for decides to create a robot child capable of love, so one day Henry brings home a robot boy, David. Mostly Monica resents his presence in the household, but the more David resembles a normal child, the more she grows attached to him. A new situation arises when Monica's recovered son returns.
