Twelve-year-old Ariana (Magdalena Müller), who grows up in an orphanage, meets Archivald (Roman Zach), an old alchemist who offers her the chance to become a student at the Academy of Alchemists. Ariana must pass four entrance exams, for which she is prepared by her teachers: Lora (Sára Korbelová) and Mertura (Cyril Dobrý). At the Academy, Ariana forms strong friendships and gets the chance to uncover secrets about herself and her parents.
