One cop, one witness, and a hundred thousand bullets against them

Ben Shockley (Clint Eastwood) is a hard-drinking Phoenix police detective assigned to escort a seemingly minor witness, Gus Mally (Sondra Locke), from Las Vegas to testify at a trial. However, Shockley quickly discovers that Gus is actually a key witness in a high-profile case involving top-tier police and political corruption. With high-ranking officials desperate to keep her from reaching the courtroom, the pair are hunted by hundreds of armed officers and hitmen. Their only hope for survival is to modify a city bus with heavy steel armor and run a deadly gauntlet of gunfire...
