Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of one of Los Angeles' most prominent and respected media moguls and is perfectly happy living a carefree, aimless, party-filled life - until his father (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, leaving Britt with his vast media empire. He forms an unlikely friendship with one of his father's most enterprising and resourceful employees, Kato (Jay Chou).
For the first time in his life, he sees his chance to do something meaningful: fight crime. But to do so, they decide to become criminals themselves - Britt protects the law by breaking it and becomes a vigilante as The Green Hornet, as he and Kato take to the streets. Kato uses all his wits and skills to create the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry - The Black Beauty, an indestructible car that has as much firepower as horsepower.
Traveling in a mobile fortress on wheels and attacking bad guys with Kato's clever inventions, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly make a name for themselves and, with the help of Britt's new secretary Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), begin to track down the man who controls the Los Angeles underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has his own plan: to crush The Green Hornet once and for all.
