The daughter of the Leans (Sam Neill and Kristin Scott Thomas) suffers a serious accident while riding her beloved horse, Pilgrim, and both the girl and the animal are left deeply traumatized. In desperation, the mother makes a bold decision: she quits her job at a fashion magazine and heads West in search of a man known as The Horse Whisperer. Tom (Robert Redford), who lives surrounded by nature on a ranch in Montana, begins working with Pilgrim to heal him. But he soon realizes that it’s actually young Grace (Scarlett Johansson) – who lost her leg in the accident – who needs healing the most, emotionally and mentally. Both mother and daughter slowly discover a completely different world on the ranch – one far removed from the chaos and noise of the big city...
