Lieutenant Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid) is a young and equally arrogant pilot working in miniaturization research. During an experiment to shrink his "submarine" to micrometers and inject it into the body of a white rabbit, a group of criminals break into the lab and try to steal this revolutionary technology. One of the scientists escapes with Tuck but is killed. Moments before his death, Tuck is still injected into the body of Jack Putter (Martin Short), a neurotic hypochondriac. Together they then try to find out who was behind the attack and recover the necessary equipment. This is not only because Jack can't bear the thought of a tiny little man running through his body and spreading germs, but also because Tuck doesn't want to die somewhere in a man's digestive tract, leaving the mother of his future child and his love Lydia Maxwell (Meg Ryan) thinking he's the worst guy under the sun...
