Grey Trace (Logan Marshall-Green) has a reputation for being one of the last people to put his own hands before technology. But one night that turns his life upside down will change that attitude. A car crash on a nighttime highway and a run-in with a gang of thugs who murder his girlfriend and cripple him for life. Grey's prospects in a wheelchair are more than dim, until a scientist friend offers him a technological upgrade. With the chip in his spinal cord, Grey is not only able to walk and move his arms again, but he gains other, previously unsuspected capabilities.
The experimental device called STEM can, for example, track down the perpetrators of the nighttime robbery and help Grey deal with the crooks manually. Who could resist? Not Grey. But when he leaves the first of the perpetrators in a pool of blood, he wonders if the STEM should slow down just a little. The question is, if he can. And if Grey even wants to...
