Tim Burton's cult film tells the story of Christmas fun in a slightly unconventional way. The main character of the film is Jack Skellington, the bored, uncrowned ruler of Halloween Town, a pumpkin-headed skeleton. One day he accidentally finds himself in the neighbouring Christmas Town. He is so captivated by the atmosphere there that he wants to join in the festivities and have a slightly different kind of Halloween. He enlists the help of his friends from beyond the grave and makes wonderful presents for all the good children. He loads them onto a sleigh pulled by reindeer skeletons and sets off to bring Christmas cheer. How can this possibly work out?
