In a cabin on the edge of Castle Rock, a small town in the middle of the Oregon woods, twelve-year-old Gordie La Chance makes plans for an unusual trip that will change his life forever. For his best friend Vern has overheard his older brother talking to a friend about finding a dead body deep in the woods, and Gordie, along with the timid Vern, the tough Chris, and the courageous Teddy, organizes an adventure that turns into an odyssey that will see the boys learn about themselves first and foremost.
