Stalag 17 - DVD

*Stalag 17* (1950) is a war drama directed by Billy Wilder, who returns to the theme of World War II. The main character is the cynical prisoner J. J. Sefton, played by William Holden, winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor. Sefton is a prisoner in a German POW camp, where he makes a living by swindling and trading with the Germans. The situation becomes complicated after two prisoners are killed during an escape attempt, and it becomes clear that there is a traitor among them. Otto Preminger plays the role of the camp commander. The film received another Oscar nomination for Best Director and earned Holden recognition for his performance.
