There's a superhero in all of us and all it takes is a little magic to awaken it. In the case of Billy Batson (Asher Angel), all it takes is one word - Shazam! - and this big-city, educated 14-year-old foster kid is transformed by an old magician into the adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi).
But Shazam, with his perfect body and sculpted muscles, retains the soul of a child, and in the adult version he does everything any teenager would do if endowed with superpowers: he enjoys them! Can he fly? Does he have x-ray vision? Can he throw lightning with his hands? Will he manage to avoid his sociology exam?
Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with gleeful childlike carefreeness. But he will have to master his skills quickly to defeat the deadly forces of evil wielded by Dr Thaddeus Sivana...
