College student Lucy (Johnny Sequoyah) returns home for the holidays and brings a group of friends with her. A stay at the family’s stylish seaside hacienda promises a carefree summer. Living there is also an unusual member of the household – Ben, a friendly chimpanzee raised by Lucy’s late mother, a scientist who studied communication between humans and primates. Thanks to her experiments, Ben is exceptionally intelligent and able to communicate with people in remarkable ways.

The idyllic vacation quickly turns into a nightmare. A small injury and an unfortunate chain of events trigger an infection that changes Ben’s behavior. The once playful and gentle chimp becomes a dangerous predator. Trapped in the isolated house by the sea, the group finds themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse in which Ben uses his intelligence, strength, and understanding of human behavior. Former friendship means nothing – who will survive the night when a beloved pet becomes a relentless hunter?
