Diane, Steve, Carol Anne, and Robbie have already had an encounter with the evil spirits that destroyed their home. The family now lives with Diane’s mother, who immediately realizes that Carol Anne has a special gift. The grandmother tries to find out from her daughter what really happened in the old house, but Diane does not want to talk about it. That evening, however, the grandmother dies—and Carol Anne had known it beforehand. Carol Anne meets a man in a shopping mall who frightens her terribly. Around the same time, strange and frightening things begin to happen in their house again. An Indian spiritual guide and ghost fighter named Taylor comes to help them. Steve does not believe him at first, but gradually his attitude changes. Kane—the very man who scared Carol Anne in the mall—also appears at their door. Kane wants to enter the house and win Steve’s trust, but Steve resists him. According to Taylor, this was the first battle won—Steve has now become a warrior. Taylor tells them that the strength of their family lies in love, and he advises them not to argue but to love one another. He also says that Kane is after Carol Anne—she is the one most in danger. Taylor then takes Steve into the desert and performs a ritual with him so that he can fight the evil. According to Taylor, the family must return to the place where their first house once stood, and there they must confront the spirit...
