The time is coming for the decisive battle for the survival of Middle-earth. The journey of the individual members of the Fellowship of the Ring is entering its final and decisive phase. The wizard Gandalf, the elf Legolas and the dwarf Gimli rush with the heir to the throne Aragorn to the aid of the land of Gondor, which is resisting the overwhelming armies of Sauron. The hobbits Frodo and Sam, accompanied by Gollum, attempt to reach deep into the land of Mordor, where they must destroy the magical Ring of Power in the fires of Mount Doom.
