When hordes of alien monsters called Kaiju emerge from the sea, all hell breaks loose. Humans launch a counterattack with new weapons called Jaegers, giant robots controlled by two pilots simultaneously. Unfortunately, it seems that even the robots are almost powerless against the Kaiju. Humanity is on the brink of defeat and has no choice but to rely on the crew of an outdated Jaeger, consisting of a retired pilot and an inexperienced rookie.
