It’s 1980. Richard, drunk and mostly by mistake, signed Charter 77, and since then, trouble and bad luck have stuck to him like glue. And today is the culmination of it all. In the afternoon, he has a dentist appointment to get his wisdom teeth pulled – something he’s genuinely terrified of. But before that happens, he goes through a whole series of much bigger disasters, compared to which tooth extraction seems like a joke. A work deadline, a marriage-hungry colleague who never understood it was just a flirtation, his boss’s ultimatum to withdraw his Charter signature, a burst pipe at home hiding an old rusty gun, the unexpected fatherhood of a fifteen-year-old son he’s supposed to take responsibility for, and on top of it all, the constant shadow of a secret police agent assigned to follow him. Simply a complete “day from hell,” one that could cost him everything – or finally help him find himself...
