November 5, 1975. A group of forestry workers in Arizona report to the police that their friend Travis Walton is missing. Local sheriff Blake Davis calls in Sheriff Frank Walters, the best investigator in the county, to investigate the case. Foreman Mike tells him what happened: after finishing work, already in the dark, they saw a glow ahead of them, and when they got closer, they saw a strange floating object. Everyone was terrified, but Travis got out of the car and went to take a closer look at the object. There, he fell to the ground after being struck by an invisible force, and the others panicked and drove away. Walters is convinced that someone in the group killed Travis and the others are covering for him. They all undergo a lie detector test, but it seems that none of them made up the story. However, they all refuse to take a second test. After five days, Travis calls Walters. Walters immediately goes to pick him up and finds him completely terrified. He takes him to the hospital. After being released, Travis slowly begins to remember everything he has experienced in the past few days...
