Earth was invaded and after a long war, humanity managed to win, but at a high price - a nearly destroyed and uninhabitable planet. Life on Earth is no longer safe for humans, so they live off-planet. However, some individuals are still sent out to retrieve valuable and necessary items despite the danger. One of them is Jack (Tom Cruise), who during one of his missions finds a crashed spaceship and an unconscious woman (Olga Kurylenko) inside. After her subsequent awakening, he brings her back to his home - "to heaven". Jack learns that the beauty is a resident of Earth, but once upon a time she was a member of an expedition to Mars. An interview with her leaves many open questions hanging in the air, to which answers will have to be found...
