Description:

The world's best boxers train here, a sign above the entrance to Stillman's gym proclaims. Thomas Rocco Barbella is not a boxer. He's just a scruffy, desperate young man in need of money. So he walks in, signs up under the assumed name of Rocky Graziano, and for ten dollars, enters the ring as a sparring partner... and he's not beaten. The name goes down in history. As does this story of Graziano's journey from absolute poverty to the middleweight championship. In his second film, Paul Newman plays the real king of the ring. In preparation for the role, he met Graziano in person to pick up his manner of speech and facial expressions. The film won two Academy Awards and director Robert Wise captured the pace of the sport with the power of a knock out. Steve McQueen and Robert Loggia also appear in the film. Take the seats closest to the ring!
