- Description
The film tells the story of New York attorney Henry Turner (Harrison Ford), who has everything that makes a man successful in certain circles. A good job, money, a beautiful wife (Annette Bening), an adequate apartment and a not-so-sensitive conscience. But an unexpected tragedy changes everything. Henry becomes the accidental target of a street thug. Miraculously, he doesn't die, but his bullet-damaged brain has a difficult time recovering.
The man is initially paralysed both physically and mentally, and it is only through rehabilitative care that he manages to leave the gates of the sanatorium. However, he becomes quite a different person and his memory loss allows him to examine his previous existence as the life of a third party, with whom, strangely enough, he often disagrees. While his snobbish surroundings find the change hard to accept, his wife and daughter find the 'new' Henry far more acceptable...
