For the 30th anniversary of the release of The Godfather 3, director and screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola has prepared his new vision of the final film in the Godfather trilogy in a new and restored cut - Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Michael is now 60 years old, trying to clean up his family's crime and looking for a suitable successor to lead his empire. Young Vincent (Andy Garcia) seems like a suitable candidate, but he may also be the fuse that turns Michael's hopes for a legitimate business into a hellhole of mafia cruelty. Under the supervision of American Zoetrope and Paramount Pictures studios, the film has received a meticulously restored picture and sound, a new beginning and ending, and some scenes and shots have been changed, as well as the music. The result reflects the original intentions of writer Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola with The Godfather 3 and brings, in the words of the director, "a better conclusion to the first two films..."
