International A‑list star Bruce Willis shines in the family comedy The Kid. Russ Duritz (Willis) is a highly successful image consultant whose life is excellent on paper but empty in spirit — no real relationships, no dog, no childhood dreams fulfilled. His life is turned upside down when eight‑year‑old Rusty suddenly appears in his home — Rusty is none other than Russ himself at age eight. Rusty confronts him with everything young Russ hated about himself: being pudgy, weak, bullied; dreaming of flying, having a dog, a family — all dreams Russ abandoned over the years. As they spend time together, Rusty helps Rus reawaken his repressed memories, confront the pain of his past, especially his relationship with his father and the loss of his mother. With the help of his loyal assistant Janet (Lily Tomlin) and caring Amy (Emily Mortimer), Russ begins to accept himself and remember the dreams he once had.
