Ernst Blofeld, head of SPECTRE, wants James Bond dead. He sets a trap that he is convinced Agent 007 will succumb to. He enlists the services of his organisation's Number Three, Rosa Klebb, a high-ranking KGB officer. She sends her agent Tatyana Romanov into action as bait. Romanov is to convince MI6 that she has fallen in love with James Bond and is prepared to defect with a valuable decryption device if her hero comes to Istanbul to get her. Romanov has no idea that she is a tool in the hands of SPECTR who want to stir up a feud between the British and the Russians, sell the device back to the Soviets for a profit, and lure Bond into a death trap...
GOLDFINGER (1964)
Few criminals in the world can do with gold what Auric Goldfinger is capable of. At the same time, he can't bear to let anyone stand in his way. Although James Bond thwarts his game of cards, the woman he forces to help him dies. Agent 007 doesn't stand a chance in his chase with Goldfinger either. He falls into the hands of a man preparing an attack on the US base at Fort Knox. Strangely enough, he doesn't want to steal the gold from the fort, but to devalue it for many years with an atomic blast. The gold would remain radioactive and unusable for 60 years...
THUNDERBALL (1965)
An unknown man infiltrates the crew of a British military aircraft, disarms it and lands it at sea. He manages to retrieve two atomic bombs for a man who will use them to blackmail Britain. He demands £100 million in diamonds within two days. Bond has no choice but to interrupt his treatment and head under the sea where the dangerous criminal has hidden the stolen weapons. Naturally, he enlists a glamorous guide for his expedition. As in other Thunderball films, Sean Connery didn't let the stunt scenes stand in for him...
