The first part of The Hobbit trilogy: An Unexpected Journey, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's timeless classic of the same name, follows the protagonist Bilbo Baggins. He, along with the wizard Gandalf and thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Pavese, are thrust into a grand adventure: they must reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the terrible dragon Smaug. The journey takes them into the Great Wilderness, through a treacherous land filled with orcs, orcs and deadly willows, and to a mysterious and sinister figure known only as the Black Mage. As he wanders, Bilbo not only discovers a cunning and courage deep within himself that surprises even himself, but also acquires a "lovechild"-a ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo can't even imagine...
