Year 2034. Life on Earth, whose ozone layer began to disintegrate at the end of the 20th century, exists under a massive protective shield controlled by a powerful multinational corporation. Aged Connor MacLeod, condemned to eternal life on Earth for his part in the failed revolt against General Katana on the planet Zeist, meets a young environmental terrorist, Louise Marcus, whose group has uncovered a closely guarded secret - the ozone layer exists again as before, and the protective shield only works to bring the Company high profits.
In a furious struggle, MacLeod dispatches two assassins sent by Katana and regains his youthful appearance. Using a special psychic power, he summons his old friend Ramirez. MacLeod, Ramirez, and Louise first free Alan Neyman from prison, who helped MacLeod build the shield years ago, and then they all set out to destroy the now unnecessary protection from the devastating cosmic rays.
