Three Oscars richer (for the fantastic The Faun's Labyrinth) director Guillermo del Toro returned to the most diabolical of all comic book heroes after four years. Hellboy (Ron Perlman), who adores good cigars and fiery beauty Liz, will once again crush the bad guys and deliver one badass line after another.
This time, the most troublesome employee of the top-secret Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense is in for a real challenge. For the son of the ruler of the underworld, Prince Nuada, has broken the fragile truce that had existed between humans and his empire, setting off the proverbial hell on Earth. And it's about to get worse - Nuada is trying to assemble a collection of artifacts to help him revive the Golden Army, indestructible bridges that will make humanity an endangered species in minutes. To make matters worse, Hellboy is also distracted by the slightly Italian household he has with his Liz. Faced with a threat to the world, the family must go aside, so the staff of the most secret of all secret agencies head to the enemy camp to stop Evil before it can even roll out on Earth.
